Cultural Analysis
Culture matters. A cultural disconnect between Candidate and Client will contribute strongly to the failure of a new appointment. Every organisation differs in “the way things are done around here”. Further complication arises when sub-cultures evolve in divisions or separate functions of an organisation, by virtue of inconsistent leadership styles within the company.
In recent times there has been a paradigm shift in management style and philosophy; perhaps due to a transition from the traditionally hierarchical and autocratic style of the ‘Baby Boomers’ approach to the more inclusive and autonomous expectations of ‘Generation X’. The new generation of ‘Millennials’ will have different needs again.
Therefore, the importance of profiling a Clients’ organisational culture (and sub-cultures) and measuring potential Candidates’ cultural preferences enables us to map the two sides together and assess the likely ‘fit’. At the very least, where differences exist, they can be identified, explored and evaluated.
An integral component of our tailored service is our ‘Cultural Mapping’ assessment pertaining to each short listed Candidate, that identifies the extent of the ‘fit’ and any potential mismatch.
“The organizations of the future will increasingly depend on the creativity of their members to survive. Great Groups offer a new model in which the leader is an equal among Titans. In a truly creative collaboration, work is pleasure, and the only rules and procedures are those that advance the common cause.”
